Overview
 
 
Critical Care Medicine at Duke University Hospital is a multidisciplinary specialty involving pediatrics, anesthesiology, neurology, internal medicine, and surgery.
 
There are eight critical care units at Duke Medical Center which include the following ICUs:
Bone Marrow Transplant
Cardiac
Cardiothoracic
Medical
Neonatal
Neurologic
Pediatric
Surgical/Trauma
The Surgical and Cardiothoracic ICUs are staffed by faculty from multiple departments and the Surgical ICU unit has 24 hour in-house attending coverage.
 
Critical Care Medicine also offers the following six fellowships:
Our multidisciplinary team of experts participate in weekly conferences and engage in research as well as undergraduate and graduate medical education.
 
This web site highlights the program's educational activities (including samples of education conference materials) and serves as a resource portal for our trainees. The web site has been highlighted by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as a "best practice".
